Dispelling Myths about Sexual Abuse and Assault

Facts are available. It is important to understand prevalence and the impact of sexual trauma. What if you aren’t crazy? What if you just pushed it away, as it happened to so many others? What if you felt responsible? What if you aren’t just making a mountain out of a molehill? What if you are simply responding logically to an impossible situation, whether it happened last year or dozens of years ago?  Topics covered include: Levels of Trauma, Cultural Factors, Current Statistics, Treatment Options, Empowerment and Prevention, and Finding Your Voice.

Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

Do you find yourself worrying? A lot? Are you always waiting for the other shoe to fall? Do you find yourself more ill at ease than others? This group is a 6-week educational and experience/growth group. You will learn about the roots of fear, the physiological impact of anxiety, and some excellent tools to manage panic. Female Survivors of Sexual Abuse

The purpose of this group is to assist women currently in therapy with overcoming the impact of sexual abuse. Breaking the power of the secret, in a supportive environment with others who understand, increases personal freedom and moves individual therapy forward. This is a 14-week group, with required participation after the third session. A pre-group interview is required. You must have an therapist's referral to join. Navigating Grief and Loss

An informational and educational sharing group for those who are struggling with the pain of loss. Whether a spouse, child, friend or even a beloved pet, managing the loss of a loved one is a difficult process. Gain understanding in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Parenting of Prodigals

This brief group addresses the emotional turmoil of caring for a strong-willed or challenging child. Parents with children of all ages (even adult children) are welcome to participate. Addressing a variety of issues from oppositional behavior, inattention, educational and learning difficulties, sleep problems, to psychological problems and addictions. Empowered parenting techniques are learned with support and encouragement.
